Dock Repair



Mother Nature can unleash her wrath on your docks over time which in-turn results in damages. If you need your docks repaired, we can get it done for you surgically and professionally with lasting results. We send out an assistant stat, to assess the injury damage, make the decision if it can be resuscitated through repair and make a list of materials for the Dock Docktor. We give you the diagnosis and the estimate of repair, at no charge to you. You then decide how you want to proceed.

Dock Build New



When a dock has been determined not salvageable, we can remove the remains. To be straight forward and to save time we would replicate the existing foot print with all new docks rung to existing piles if deemed worthy. Docks to build can be made up of many different types of materials from pressure treated wood to aluminum plus also to suit what your personal needs are. Whether you need docking space for boats or simply a set of canoes including extra storage space if needed, can be all figured into your plans.

Dock Power Washing



Dock power washing to clean off debris and mold to get you ready for the season. We also have a soft pressure wash for older docks where we want to avoid furring of the wood on the surface degrading the wood integrity. All soft wash applications are biodegradable and are environmentally friendly. Yes we live here too and care a lot to what happens to our marine life and plantations. We clean all surfaces of the dock, hand rails, storage boxes, cleats, including sections that you don't see to ensure cleanliness to you, your family and friends.

Dock Extension



Adding a dock extension to your existing dock is great way to go when needing extra space above the water. A great benefit of adding extra dock space would be not having all of those items fill up valuable space on land. Dock extensions offer more room for storage with less hassle when getting off the water each day. Adding a storage box is also a great place for storing life jackets, because they won't get wet or dingy from sitting out in rain storms and heavy winds like they would if stored outside next to your house.











Dock Winterizing



Dock winterizing consists of removing all docks out of the water and storing them in a safe location for the winter. We also offer plans for annual barnacle removal and maintenance. After removal we let the docks fully dry out for about a month to two months, then come back to scrape all dead barnacles from the bottom of pontoons and edges of dock or floating dock. This now keeps the original weight of the dock rated for the pontoons and never having dock lay low in water due to no added barnacle weight.

Dock Cleaning



Dock cleaning is a must for the health and adding years of life to your dock and floating dock. Barnacles are the first and foremost biggest enemy to your dock due to the added weight, plus it can cut your skin very easily when getting on or off of your dock and especially on a floating dock. We scrape all barnacles off bottom of pontoons, pressure wash barnacle remains off of pontoons and power wash dock topside. With one of our annual plans we also perform minor repairs, keeping your docks in a healthy state and you in a great frame of mind.

Bluff Stair Repair



Tides are the worst enemy to your bluff stairs especially during the winter time when steps freeze to the waters surface, resulting in broken planks. Bluff stair repair is important in ensuring that you have a safe way of getting down or up the steps safely without being at risk of injury. Our bluff stair repair specialist can come and assess the damage of your stairs then fix them up for you in order to make sure they are safe again. The repairs that are made depend on what needs fixing, but it typically includes removing and replacing any broken planks or boards. While we are there we can do a structural inspection as well.

Dock Builder Repair Services covers all aspects of dock repair and building, including structural inspections of piles, bluff stairs and their structures. The Dock Docktor has the most experience through residing here directly on the East End of Long Island NY. Covering the North Fork and South Fork, our Island has weathered many storms and the largest one to date, Hurricane Sandy. Through these disasters we have repaired and built many docks on the Island's waters edge from Long Island Sound to the Atlantic Ocean. The Dock Docktor's Staff is well rehearsed through many challenging repairs we as a team have completed in the past over the years. All materials are supplied by The Dock Docktor which is less for you to worry about when getting your repairs or builds done at your location. Not only do we supply our services to residents, we have done many commercial dock repairs for local businesses as well. Usually a member of the Staff can be sight-on-scene within the same day to diagnose your dock issues. Disasters of course will take a longer response time. We offer service plans for your dock needs each year and add you to our scheduled routes for routine dock maintenance, repairs and cleanings.
